Ben Barke

Owner and Artisan, Cascade Artscape

Ben Barke was raised in nearby Wenatchee, Washington. While in High School, he engaged in mining and developed a passion for sculpture. He was later a commercial fisherman during the summers, and mined and sculpted the rest of the year.

With the advent of diamond tools about twenty years ago, Ben began carving harder stones such as marble, limestone, granite, basalt, and alabaster. Cascade Artscape was born as a showcase for his creative talent.

Cascade Artscape currently offers indoor and outdoor sculpture, landscape art, and structural elements of stone or wood.

Future Developments

Cascade Artscape has exciting things on the horizon. Ben plans to offer classes taught by local sculptors, with an emphasis on carving local stone. Topics will include stone identification and location, tools and techniques, and safety procedures. He also plans to have raw stone available for purchase.
